Activities in Africa

TAHAL Consulting Engineers Ltd. has been an active participant in Africa’s development efforts almost from the time of its establishment, some 50 years ago.

TAHAL possesses the necessary base to meet the challenges posed by the dynamic and rapidly developing economies of African countries. It has planned, designed and supervised construction of more than 100 urban, regional and rural water supply projects, in addition to developing surface and groundwater sources, sewerage and drainage systems, flood control projects and infrastructure in places as diverse as Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, the Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Nigeria, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Zambia. Particular focus has been placed on comprehensive river basin development, including irrigated and rainfed agriculture and the related agricultural supporting services (extension, input supply, post-harvest handling and agro-industries).

Activities in Asia

TAHAL has been actively involved in development projects in Asia for nearly five decades. The undertakings have varied both in type and scope, and have ranged from consulting services for localized water resources development, agricultural, irrigation and sanitation projects to comprehensive undertakings covering the entire country. Services have included preparation of strategies for water resources management, feasibility studies, detailed design, supervision of construction of water supply and irrigation systems, and personnel training.

TAHAL developed and continues to develop projects in India, Nepal, Thailand, China, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Burma, Singapore, Vietnam and Taiwan.

TAHAL has recently initiated marketing efforts in Central Asia and the Caucasus (former Soviet Union republics) in order to participate in the development of these countries' economies and to contribute its expertise in the framework of restructuring programs.
