As an integral part of its work in the field of water resources, TAHAL provides services in the development of non-conventional and marginal waters such as seawater and brackish water for use, following desalination, in urban supply and irrigation.
From China to Israel, and from Cyprus to Venezuela, TAHAL has provided specific know-how and services in the field of desalination, including planning, design and installation of plants ranking among the largest in the world (capacities of up to 100 million m3/year), producing drinking water that is highly competitive in terms of unit price and quality. The plants, based largely on the reverse osmosis (RO) process, may be either full-scale or compact units. In the context of its activities in this field, TAHAL maintains close contacts with the desalination industry and with research institutions throughout the world.
The Group's services in the field of desalination are provided mainly through Via Maris Desalination Ltd. (Israel).
